As part of their integration, the M2 GEAI students had the opportunity to participate in a two-day seminar at the Hameau du Perrat in Sologne, hosted by the Vendrand family.
This estate of more than 20 hectares is dedicated to the organic cultivation of hazelnuts 🌰 and yuzus 🍋, perfectly illustrating the alliance between sustainable agriculture and agro-tourism. 🌳 During our stay, we participated in the hazelnut harvest and discovered their processing unit project, which produces virgin hazelnut oil and table hazelnuts for a demanding clientele (French chefs, chocolatiers, etc.).
This seminar reinforced our understanding of the challenges of agriculture, particularly in terms of the environment 🌍, health 🍏, in line with the theme of the Master program this year and over the next 3 years: sustainable and reasoned agriculture. This stay immersed us in the heart of an innovative and environmentally friendly farm, while allowing us to discover the challenges and opportunities that this economic model represents in direct connection with our training.
In addition to its agricultural activity, the Hameau du Perrat offers a unique welcoming environment for individuals and businesses, with seminars focused on raising awareness on the challenges of sustainable agriculture. This place combines pleasure, commitment and discoveries, while allowing us to understand the contemporary issues related to the transformation of our agricultural model. 🌾
